Professional and collegiate athletics have become less about the performace and more about the show. And for the most part, many people that attend these sporting events are expecting just that, a show. Since the Cowboys have installed their 70 yard HD television, pregrame rituals have been taken to a new level. Here are the nation’s best sports intro videos.

8. 2001 South Carolina Gamecocks

When it comes to college football there are very few teams that have an intro as intense as the fighting Gamecocks. Clemson, eat your heart out. While running down a hill is cool and all, it just isn’t on the same caliber as your instate rivals.

7. The 1996 Chicago Bulls

This team was a dynasty during the game as well as before. The intro for the 1996 Chicago Bulls (or any of their 90s team for that matter) is something that will never be forgotten.

6. Let’s Get Ready to Ruuuumbleeeeeeeeee

Probably the most iconic phrase in all of boxing . . . it even has its own video game on the Dreamcast.

5. Alaska Nanook’s 2010 Intro

Alaska is a weird place in itself. With the wilderness, darkness, and disconnection from the lower 48 states, there’s not a lot to get excited about in Alaska. However, the Nanook’s 2010 intro has taken hockey to a whole new level.

4. Boston Celtic’s Intro

The Boston Celtic’s intro is to the 2000’s as the Bulls was to the 90’s. Classy, ahead of its time, as well as memorable, it’s something that we will be talking about into the next decade.

3. The 2008 Bejing Opening Ceremonies

Since this is technically a sports intro, it had to be included. Some of the shit the Chinese pulled off in the 2008 Bejing opening ceremonies was absolutely, utterly, and insanely ridiculous.

2. Stone Cold Steve Austin Intro

If there were ever a master to any intro, it would be Stone Cold Steve Austin. If you’re a man and have never wanted to enter a room like a WWE professional wrestler, then you’re lying to yourself.

1. 2009 Alaska Nanooks Intro

No comment needed. The 2010 video couldn’t even compare to this one.

What’s that you’re playing on? Ice? Well that’s a purdy good playing surface . . . if you’re an Eskimo. Here in North Carolina we play on football fields. Made of 74% grass. And rattle snakes

What’s that stick you got there? A hockey stick? I bet that comes in real handy when you caint get back there to give your boyfriend the reach around. In Stanly County we use sticks to go catfishin’. And to make moonshine. And to poke shit while we’re moonshine catfishin’ while u’re twirlin on ur ice.

Skates? Skates?? I’ve seen them skates before . . . on hair stylists and that Pauly Shore. We don’t need skates in North Carolina . . . the Wolf Pack prowl in bare feet. I will come in reaaaaaal handy when you’re tryin’ to kill a bear with your own hands in the Appalachians. What, you’ve never done that before? Pansy.

Is that a dip can? No? A puck you say! It’s ROUND? Well oo la la! We don’t like the shape ROUND around these woods. Gets in the way of us doin’ important shit. Like moonshinin’ moonshine and lightin’ shit on fire. What’d you say? Yeah NASCAR tracks are round too! But so is that purdy mouth of yours. I bet those 2 missin’ front teeth will come in reeeeeeal useful when we’re done with ya.

What’s that? You play in the RBC Center? . . . . .

My Wolfpack play there!

I went to . . . .

Yeah, I got a college education . . .

Dude, it was just a joke, I don’t like your mouth . . .

But I didn’t paint that about Obama in the expression tunnel! . . .

Your colors aren’t red and white because ours are?

Can we tell them they are?

The rest of North Carolina.

We’re doing it anyways.

Yeah, I think they’ll be jealous there’s no ice in the Dean Dome . . .

After being booted from their arena in Atlanta and failing to secure a new location, reports have confirmed that the Atlanta Steam lingerie football team will be relocating to Charlotte next season. There are few details as to when or where they will play, but let’s just hope they don’t get the panther-swipe from God-fearing locals looking to run all scantily clad women out of town. It’s not stripping and it’s not topless mud wrestling . . . it’s a nice little mixture of both on a football field.

With the banking taking a sour turn in Charlotte and the economy continuing to plummet, this lingerie football team is just what North Carolina needs to see the light on the other side.

In other, slightly more important news . . . the Carolina Hurricanes won 4-3 last night over New Jersey with just 0.2 seconds remaining. Dislocated northerners and NC Staters remain the only North Carolinians to care until the finals.
