I’m just wondering which Tar Heel had the $1,000,000 bill for Obama to sign.

Monday, May 18th, 2009John Wall Arrested for Breaking and Entering
Monday, May 4th, 2009
The nation’s premiere basketball recruit, John Wall was arrested last week on April 27th for breaking and entering in a Raleigh residence. According to the NewsandObserver:
Wall, 18, a senior at Raleigh Word of God, was arrested April 27 by a Raleigh police officer and issued a citation charging him with misdemeanor breaking and entering, said Wake County chief magistrate Gary Wills.
The citation is similar to one issued for a traffic violation, Wills said. “You can be cited for a misdemeanor breaking and entering,” he said. No warrant was executed, and Wall was not detained. Wills said he did not know the location of the arrest.
The 6-foot-4 inch point guard is being courted by the nation’s elite basketball programs including Duke, Kentucky, Memphis, and NC State. But will a program of such history such as these keep a recruit charged with breaking and entering? I certainly hope not. There are recruiting standards . . . and breaking and entering charges against a recruit who has also failed to even meet college admission requirements is a huge blow. When all said and done, this charge should make him a lock for the Wildcats and Calipari. They’ve taken guys with a lot more baggage. Tyreke Evans was behind the wheel in a drive-by shooting during his recruiting period. If the rumors were true that he was holding out for UNC and the Tar Heels, there is absolutely no way Roy will make that offer now. He will be lucky for Lowe and the Wolfpack to keep the offer out there for him.
Pic of the Day – 04.28.09 – The Fing and Lang
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009The Fing stood 7′6”, was very skinny, and had absolutely zero skill. After the death of some English giant, he now stands the tallest man in their country.

TJ Yates Injured in Frisky Ultimate Frisbee Game
Saturday, April 25th, 2009*Sigh* I wish this title weren’t true. Our quarterback plays . . . and gets injured in ultimate frisbee. Leave this game to the hipsters, former high school football players, and the dudes that turn ultimate into a “sport” and make it really annoying.
Ellington, Lawson Heading for the NBA
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009The Tar Heel guard duo announced today at 2:30 that they will be heading for the NBA following their win in the National Championship game. Lawson averaged 16.6 points per game and also led the ACC in assists at 6.6 per game. Ellington averaged 15.8 points per game and hit 85 three pointers this season for the Heels. He had 19 points in the championship game versus Michigan State and was named the Most Outstanding Player in the Final Four. While Ellington’s draft status remains uncertain, Lawson is considered by many to be one of the best guards in the 2009 draft.
And while most Tar Heel fans see this as a blow to the program, I see it more along the lines as a great opportunity. The #1 recruit in the nation, John Wall, has been holding out in announcing his decision for college basketball for weeks now. It is reported that his eyes are on Memphis, Kansas, Kentucky, NC State, Duke, and Baylor. However, he has made clear his intentions to announce on Monday, fully knowing the deadline to declare for the NBA was the Sunday prior.
With 2 new scholarships opening up in the UNC lineup, I fully expect Roy Williams will send an offer to the Raleigh native. If Roy can avoid his AAU handlers and Wall can meet the admission requirements, I believe it is a great possibility we could see him in a UNC jersey next season. After all, UNC was the dark horse during the Brandan Wright recruiting fiasco as well. It is known that Wall is has been a UNC fan, he has toured the school, yet without a scholarship to offer, he could never publicly declare UNC an option.
Brian Clifton, Wall’s AAU “handler/pimp” has expressed his dislike for Roy Williams, but if Wall happens to gain his own mind, then who knows where Wall will head. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. As for Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington, these guys were class act players.
